High-Accuracy 3D Contour Measurement by Using the Quaternion Wavelet Transform Image Denoising Technique

In this paper, we propose an image denoising algorithm based on the quaternion wavelet transform (QWT) to address sinusoidal fringe images under strong noise in structured light 3D profilometry. The analysis of a shows that amplitude is easily affected by noise. However, three phase images, which mainly reflect edge and texture information, are randomly disorderly distributed with respect QWT suitable for processing complex structures high-accuracy measurement system. Sinusoidal collected denoised using classical Gaussian smoothing (GS) algorithm, GS used as reference algorithm. results indicate standard deviation reduced from 0.1448 raw 0.0192, signal-to-noise ratio improved 4.6213 dB 13.3463 two algorithms have same effect surface less information. For rich details contour lost because “blurring” caused while all reconstructed its characteristic information being separated source. measured face mask, error than ±0.02 mm. addition, it takes 20 s run process eight meets requirements high-precision measurements.
